PPF Images Copyright Statement

Images, including logos, designs, emblems & photographic images may be protected by copyright law and/or be registered trade marks.
Legal action may be avoided if you know:-

• How the image will be used?
• Is it subject to copyright or other legal restriction regarding its use?
• If it might be, who you should contact to obtain their permission to use it for your intended purpose - including making copies of an original?
• That you have obtained all written permissions you need to use the image as you intend.

In general the person who creates an original image e.g. a photo or slide owns or controls the copyright relating to that image which usually lasts for 70 years after the end of the year in which the copyright holder dies.
This is an automatic right meaning it does not have to be registered to be legally enforceable.
So for any image you have created yourself e.g. a family wedding photo you have taken, you own the copyright and may use the image as you wish.
On the other hand if the image was taken by another person e.g. a picture at the same family wedding by a  professional photographer you hired, they control the copyright, and you should obtain their written permission before using the image in any way not permitted in the contract between yourself and the photographer.
